Disclosed is an h-BN powder wherein, in a BN powder, the ratio of the major axis diameter and thickness of primary particles is controlled to 5-10, the aggregate size of the primary particles expressed in the average particle diameter (D50) is controlled to 2-200 µm inclusive, and the bulk density is controlled to 0.5-1.0 g/cm3 so as to give a low porosity in aggregates of the primary particles and improve the binding force among the particles, thereby achieving good filling properties and, in its turn, a high heat conductivity.
