PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an authentication system wherein a waiting time of a user when each use target device executes authentication processing when managing in an integrated fashion information related to authentication of the user in the plurality of use target devices is short as compared with when inquiring from an external device each time using the use target device. SOLUTION: In the authentication system, when an authentication processing apparatus 10 authenticates the user by identification information received from the user, the authentication processing apparatus 10 transmits authentication-related information used for the authentication of the user by the use target device to each of one or more use target devices associated to the authenticated user out of the plurality of use target devices 20. Each use target device 20 receives the authentication-related information transmitted by the authentication processing apparatus 10, and authenticates the user by use of the received authentication-related information when the authenticated user uses the use target device.
