PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control a display form of a radiographic image using a square plane detector according to a photographing purpose selected between a photographing mode of saving an image and a photographing mode of not saving an image. SOLUTION: A radiographic apparatus includes a photographing part for taking a radiographic image of an object; a discriminating part for discriminating the photographing mode between a mode of saving the radiographic image in a storage part and a mode of not saving the image; a first calculating part for calculating image size information of the radiographic image; a second calculating part for calculating image display area information showing the size of an image display area in which the radiographic image can be displayed by a display part; a first deciding part for deciding a rotational condition for rotation when the image is displayed on the display part and a second deciding part for deciding an enlargement and reduction condition for enlargement and reduction. At the start of irradiation, when the mode of not saving the image is discriminated, the second deciding part decides the enlargement and reduction condition according to the image size information and the image display area information so that the whole of the radiographic image rotated under the rotational condition decided by the first deciding part has a maximum proportion to the image display area.
