<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display apparatus allowing a high degree of freedom in arrangement and having a high degree of freedom in design so as not to become an obstacle to a horizontal line of sight of an observer. <P>SOLUTION: The image display apparatus includes: an image forming device 111; an optical system 112; and an optical device 120 to which the light beams converted into the parallel light by the optical system 112 enter, in which the light beams are guided, and from which the light beams are emitted.
