PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner in which rigidity is enhanced by a simple structure, and to provide an image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The male screw members 310, 320 of the optical scanner 26 are located at the most upstream end part 91 side, and the male screw members 330, 340 of the optical scanner 26 are located closer to the downstream end part 92 than the male screw members 310, 320. The optical scanner 26 is mounted on the body of the image forming apparatus at two fixing parts 150 located at the upstream end part 91 and two supporting parts 140 located at the downstream end part 92. At the fixing parts 150, the optical scanner 26 is completely fixed, and at the supporting parts 140, on the other hand, the optical scanner 26 is not completely fixed. At the supporting part 140, the optical scanner 26 receives force pressed by the body of the image forming apparatus by the engagement with the body of the image forming apparatus.
