PURPOSE: A method for preparing an agent for embolus containing superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles(SPIOs) is provided to trace particle position and state in the body. CONSTITUTION: An agent for embolus contains a spherical particle containing superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles. The nanoparticle is loaded on a biocompatible polymer. The biocompatible polymer is chitosan. A method for preparing the agent for embolus comprises: a step of mixing a biocompatible polymer solution and superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles; and a step of dropping the solution to a mixture solvent to form a spherical particle.
