<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for joining an adhesive tape, which join an adhesive tape, have a tab formed at least one of the front and rear ends thereof in the joining direction, on a body to be joined. <P>SOLUTION: In this method for joining an adhesive tape, the front end of an adhesive tape T which is folded back by an edge member 17 and separated from a separator S is sucked and held by the holding surface of a holding part 25 comprising a pair of opened holding blocks, and the front end side holding block is pivotally moved to abut the holding surfaces of both holding blocks on each other to bend the adhesive tape T inward and adhere the adhesive agent layers to each other for forming a tab.
