PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric vehicle that immediately cuts off power transmission from an electric motor to a wheel when the electric motor fails or when ABS operates. SOLUTION: A power transmission system transmits driving force of an electric motor 10 to a front wheel 2. The system has a two-way clutch 21. The clutch has a holder 28 and each roller 30 held by the holder 28, and connects the drive-side shaft and the driven-side shaft to each other by engagement of the rollers 30 by rotational control of the holder 28. The engagement and disengagement of the two-way clutch 21 are controlled by power supply and cut-off of the power supply to an electromagnetic coil 43a of an electromagnetic clutch 40, so as to immediately cut off power transmission from the electric motor 10 to the front wheel 2.
