PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting element having a light reflecting layer with a suitable light reflection performance. SOLUTION: A manufacturing method for a light-emitting element has a process of removing, with thermal decomposition, a resin layer 3 of a laminated member 30 which has: at least a light-emitting layer 2 containing a plurality of light-emitting body particles 20; the resin layer 3 arranged on the light-emitting layer 2, and a light reflecting layer 6 arranged on the resin layer 3. The resin layer 3 includes a solid resin 4, and a plurality of resin particles 5 dispersed into the solid resin 4. A temperature reaching 70% of mass reduction by means of thermogravimetry of the resin particle 5 is lower than a temperature reaching 70% of mass reduction by means of thermogravimetry of the solid resin 4.
