PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an urging device in which a member to be fixed is prevented from being damaged and it is easily fixed to the member to be fixed. SOLUTION: There is provided an urging device 1 installed between a glove box and an instrument panel, wherein the same is comprised of a supporting base 11 formed at the glove box, an abutment member 13 having a turning shaft rotatably supported at the supporting base 11 and resiliently contacted with the instrument panel, a twisted coil spring (a resilient member) held at the abutment member 13 so as to bias the abutment member 13 at one end in a resilient contacted direction and the supporting base 11 has bearings 21, 21 for supporting the turning shaft and a spring engagement block 23 engaged with the other end 14c of the resilient member.
