PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator which prevents the occurrence of an undesirable state on safety, by shortening rewriting work, regardless of the number of memories of a replacing object. SOLUTION: This elevator includes a car image display device 10 arranged in a car and displaying information, a landing hall image display device arranged on a landing hall of respective stories, a rewritable memory 15 for storing display data displayed by the car image display device 10 or the respective landing hall image display devices, a display control unit 16 for making the display data stored in this memory 15, a portable terminal 11 for storing the display data inside to be displayed on the car image display device 10 or the respective landing hall image display devices, and a transmitting-receiving part 14 for performing radiocommunication between this portable terminal 11 and itself. This transmitting-receiving part 14 extracts the display data by receiving and demodulating a radio signal including the display data from the portable terminal 11, and the display control unit 16 writes this display data in the memory 15.
