A support garment comprises a body encircling member 10 stretchable along its length only, fasteners 26, 28 and 30 attached to the ends of member 10 for joining the ends together and a pair of shoulder straps 12, 14 made of elastic webbing 40, 42 secured at their ends 44, 46 to the back of member 10 and adapted to extend over the shoulders and under the arms to the sides 54, 56 of member 10. Member 10 comprises three longitudinally elastic panels 16, 18 and 20, connected together for limited relative motion by faggotting stitching 32, 34. Straps 12, 14 are sewn to all three panels at the back of member 10, but only to the upper panel 20 at the sides, thereby reinforcing the back of the garment. A lining (38), Fig. 4 (not shown) may be provided for member 10 and Straps 12, 14. The upper corners of member @0 may be folded down as in Fig. 6 for fema@e wear. Fasteners 26, 28 and 30 may be of Velcro (Registered Trade Mark) or the like.
