SILICON CARBIDE POWDER DERIVED FROM MESOPOROUS SILICA AND ITS SYNTHESIS METHOD

PURPOSE: Silicon carbide powder produced from mesoporous silica, and producing method thereof are provided to produce high purity silicon carbide by reducing the residual oxygen amount. CONSTITUTION: A producing method of silicon carbide powder comprises the following steps: synthesizing mesoporous silica(S1); mixing the obtained mesoporous silica, with a carbon source(S2); and heat-processing the mixture of the carbon source and the mesoporous silica(S3). The pore size of the mesoporous silica is 1~4nanometers. The carbon source is selected from the group consisting of carbon black, carbon nanotubes, and graphite.
