Metal treatment system consists of two zones one of which has a series of treatment stations through which the article passes at an extremely fast constant rate and the other through which it passes according to a predetermined programme. The operation of the second zone is conducted so that the periods of time which the article spends at given station are multiples of the periods used in the constant rate part of the system. This arrangement combines the advantages of both systems i.e. fast throughput with flexibility of treatment and reduced plant costs. |
