A copolymer is prepared by conventional cationic polymerization of 70 to 99À99% trioxan, 0 to 10% of a cyclic ether, or cyclic or linear acetal, and 0À01 to 20% of a bifunctional compound of the formula where R 1 is a C 6 or C 10 bivalent aromatic radical which may be C 1-6 alkyl substituted, and R 2 is C 1-6 alkyl. In examples, trioxan is copolymerized with p-glycideoxy benzene sulphonic acid methyl ester and in some cases also ethylene oxide or dioxolan. |
