PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processor that reduces the save/restore overhead of register values generated during an interrupt process, without causing an increase of cost. SOLUTION: The processor includes: a register; an instruction execution unit for saving and/or restoring the contents retained in the register, during a function call process and the interrupt process, and saving at least some of the contents retained in the register, prior to execution of a function call instruction, and restoring it after execution of a return instruction; and an interrupt receiving unit for receiving the interrupt process only during execution of the function call instruction or the return instruction.
