TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING METHOD AND SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the energy consumption of wheel electronics used for monitoring air pressure in vehicle tires.

SOLUTION: A method for monitoring air pressure in vehicle tires uses the wheel electronics (1) including a pressure sensor (1a) for measuring the air pressure present in a tire, a transmitter (1e) for transmitting pressure information and a receiver (1f) for receiving an interrogation signal (10). A transmission activity of the wheel electronics (1) is triggered by the reception of the interrogation signal (10), which is transmitted as a pulse train including a command section (14) that encodes a transmission instruction for the wheel electronics and an adjustment section (12) having several pulses (12a) before the command section (14).
