The invention relates to a swab system, which is used in the forensic or medical field in securing crime-scene evidence or collecting samples, comprising a sample tube (5) and a swab, which comprises a short swab rod (3), which is provided with a sample-collecting means (4) at the front end of the short swab rod and which is designed integrally with a handle piece, which accommodates the rear rod end in an opening head (14), which is tapered toward the front so as to have a smooth outer transition surface (12). The short swab rod (3) is arranged in the sample tube (5), closing the free opening side thereof, for protection and can be removed from the sample tube (5) for use. In order to create a universal swab system, the swab rod (3) having a short usage length (KGL) is fastened in the opening head (14) of a long handle (11), which extends the short swab rod (3) to form a swab (200) having a large usage length (GGL), wherein the long handle (11) enables a shorter or longer handling distance for using the swab (200) with either the large usage length (GGL) or the short usage length (KGL). |
