<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can suppress a jam, fixing failure, and image quality degradation, which result from curling of a transfer material during the conveyance of the transfer material. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a transfer belt 40 to which an image is transferred; a belt drive roller 41 around which the transfer belt 40 is wound; a secondary transfer roller 61 forming a transfer nip in contact with the belt drive roller 41 via the transfer belt 40, and used for transferring the image transferred to the transfer belt 40 onto a transfer material passing through the nip; a transfer material-conveying device 230 which sucks the transfer material upward in a vertical direction, and in which the surface of the transfer material with the image transferred conveys the transfer material downward in the vertical direction; a guide part for sucking the transfer material, conveyed by a transfer material-conveying part, upward in the vertical direction; a fixing unit 90 having a heat roller 91 and a pressure roller 92; and an air current-generating part 275 for generating an air current for sucking the transfer material upward in the vertical direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
