<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overcome the problem wherein a probability for detecting a target is reduced since many undesired waves are generated by a transmission wave from the target machine and a rotated engine blade in a pulse Doppler radar. <P>SOLUTION: In the invention, a determination process is implemented so as to extract a target signal only from a plurality of receive Doppler frequencies including the undesired waves under the conditions that a frequency data and a strength data specific to the target signal are utilized when a FM ranging process is implemented. A ranging calculation is implemented on a signal finally meeting the conditions only.
