PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a common electrode driving circuit capable of applying sufficient gate voltage to a transistor built in an output stage while reducing a circuit size and to provide a liquid crystal display device using the circuit. SOLUTION: The common electrode driving circuit includes: a holding capacitor C1 whose one electrode is connected to a gate of an output stage transistor T3; discharge circuits (T5, T6) discharging the holding capacitor C1 according to a first signal Gn-2; charging circuits (T1, T2, T7) charging the holding capacitor C1 according to a second gate signal Gn-1; and a boosting circuit including a boosting transistor T13 provided between the other electrode of the holding capacitor C1 and a boosting power source VGH and turned on/off according to a third gate signal Gn, and a holding capacitor C11 holding the gate voltage of the boot strap transistor T13 and discharged according to the first or second gate signal, where the first, second and third signals Gn-2, Gn-1 and Gn whose high periods do not overlap are sequentially turned in this order.
