PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for regenerating amine liquid which enables to effectively regenerate amine liquid containing modified components such as acid components, amine oxides or the like by means of an ion exchange resin and to acquire regenerated amine liquid whose concentration of modified components, such as amine oxide or the like, is low. SOLUTION: By contacting acidic gas with amine liquid at an absorbing column 11, acidic components are absorbed and eliminated and rich amine liquid is generated. The rich amine liquid is subjected to thermal decomposition at a regenerating column 12 to release volatile acidic gas and lean amine liquid is generated. A part of the generated lean amine liquid is then passed through an anion exchange resin layer 6a to exchange and absorb anions and to secondarily regenerate lean amine liquid. In the step for secondarily regenerating amine, passing of the lean amine liquid is stopped and the anion exchange resin layer is regenerated when a passed amount of the lean amine liquid reaches≤75-85 vol.% of an amount of the lean amine liquid that can be passed before the anion exchange resin layer reaches a breakthrough point when anions composing the heat stable amine salt leaks.
