METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR ENCRYPTING MEDIA DATA OF IP MULTIMEDIA SUBSYSTEM SESSION

A method for encrypting media data of an IP (Internet Protocol) Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) session comprises: a terminal notifies a server of its own information of cipher suites, and the server selects a cipher suite to be used from the received information of cipher suites; the terminal applies for floor and notifies the server of the encryption key corresponding to the cipher suite selected by the server, and the terminal transmits the encrypted media data to the server after the floor is allowed by the server. A system for encrypting media data of an IMS session is disclosed. The method and system can realize the encryption for media data of an IMS session and ensure the security transmission of the media data.
