PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a socket member and a piping structure using the socket member preventing the sealing water breakage of drain traps of various drainage facilities by relieving the generation of negative pressure in a pipe even if paper or the like flows down with drainage in a vertical drain pipe. SOLUTION: The socket member 1 installed at an intermediate part of the vertical drain pipe 4 disposed from an upper floor to a lower floor is constituted such that guide pieces 3 with upper sides 3a inclining obliquely downward are formed in a substantially vertical direction on the inner wall surface of a socket body 2 having upper and lower connection parts 2a, 2b to the vertical drain pipe 4. Even if toilet paper is included in drainage from the drainage facility 5, the toilet paper which is about to open collides against the guide pieces 3 formed at the socket body 2, and shrinks again and is bundled to flow down the vertical drain pipe 4. The generation of negative pressure in the vertical drain pipe 4 is thereby relieved to prevent the sealing water breakage of the drain trap 5a in the drain facility 5.
