PURPOSE: Printing device and method are provided to prevent the position of a satellite from becoming disturbed by inflow air current, which is generated by the carriage movement, and magnetic air flow, which is generated by the discharge of ink droplet. CONSTITUTION: A printing device comprises a scanning unit and a controller. The scanning unit comprises a first row of nozzles, a second row of nozzles and a third row of nozzles. The first row discharges a relatively large amount of ink. The second row is arranged on one side of the first row in a scanning direction. The third row is arranged on the other side of the first row in the scanning direction. The second and third rows are formed so that printing heads, which discharge a relatively small amount of the same color ink, scan a printing medium in the scanning direction. The controller is formed so that the printing rate of one of the second and third rows, which is located ahead in the scanning direction, is controlled to be lower than the other one, which is located behind.
