PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microphone adapter that allows a conventionally general microphone for communication to be used by a computer without providing the computer with any new interfaces and device drivers. SOLUTION: The microphone adapter includes: a sound signal input section to which a microphone is connected and a sound signal collected by the microphone is inputted; a switch connection section to which a switch is connected and an on/off signal of the switch is inputted; a signal generation section for generating a switch signal, namely an audio signal at a specific frequency, according to the on/off signal inputted from the switch connection section; a signal composition section for mixing the switch signal generated by the signal generation section with the sound signal inputted from the sound signal input section for outputting as a composite signal; and a computer connection section that is connected to an audio input section of the computer and inputs the composite signal to the computer.
