PURPOSE:To improve highness of contrast of an image and its stability, by developing a photosensitive material contg. a combination of a betrazolium compd. and a compd. having at least two aromatic hydroxyl groups in one molecule, in its hydrophilic colloidal layers including silver halide emulsion layers with a developing soln. contg. a specified development inhibitor. CONSTITUTION:The developing soln. contains a compd. represented by formula I in which R1 is H, lower alkyl, halogen, or NO2; Y is N or meyhine; Z is N or C; V is H or SH; W is imino; and (n) is 0 or 1, and when Z is N, (n) is 0, and when Z is C, (n) is 1. The photosensitive material contg. a combination of a tetrazolium compd. and at least two aromatic hydroxyl groups in one molecule in at least one hydrophile colloidal layer with this developing soln. This photosensitive layer has silver halide emulsion layers as well as the hydrophilc colloidal layer. As a result, development enhanced in image contrast highness and aging stability, and suitable to rapid processing is executed, and it is especially suitable to manufacture of a printing plate superior in a dot image. |
