A mobile communication system comprises a terminal and a plurality of base stations each of which uses a scrambling code to perform a wireless communication with the terminal. Each of the plurality of base stations transmits information of the range of an uplink scrambling code, which is reserved in the local base station, to an adjacent base station and receives, on the occasion of deciding the range of an uplink scrambling code to be reserved in the local base station, information of the range of an uplink scrambling code reserved in the adjacent base station from that adjacent base station.
