METALLIC MATERIAL COMPOSED OF METAL NANOPARTICLE, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a metallic material composed of metallic fine particles in a new form capable of functioning as a catalyst. SOLUTION: The method for producing the metallic material includes: a step where an aqueous solution containing ions including a metallic element(s) capable of functioning as a catalyst is prepared; a step where amino acid is added to the prepared aqueous solution; a step where a reducing agent is added to the aqueous solution; and a step where precipitates containing the fine particles of the above metallic element(s) are produced in the aqueous solution. Preferably, the method further includes a stage of calcining the precipitates containing the metallic fine particles, and, as the amino acid, alanine (e.g., DL-alanine) is used.
