THE PRESENT INVENTION PROVIDES AN ENZYME-BASED DECONTAMINATION FORMULATION FOR DECONTAMINATING TOXIC AGENTS SUCH AS TOXIC METAL SULFIDES, HYDROGEN SULFIDE- CONTAINING GASSES, AS WELL AS OIL AND HYDROCARBON COMPONENTS FROM ARTICLES IN CONTACT WITH SAID COMPOUNDS, SAID DECONTAMINATION FORMULATION INCLUDES: (i) FROM ABOUT 44% TO 50% BY VOLUME OF AN ENZYME COMPLEX, COMPRISING A MIXTURE OF LYASE ENZYME AND A SURFACTANT; (ii) FROM I % TO 2% BY VOLUME OF HYDROCHLORIC ACID; (iii) FROM 1% TO 2% BY VOLUME OF SODIUM HYDROXIDE; (iiii) FROM 1% TO 2% BY VOLUME OF AN INHIBITOR; AND (iV) 50% BY VOLUME OF DISTILLED WATER. THE PRESENT INVENTION ELIMINATES AND/OR REDUCES THE SAID TOXIC COMPOUNDS PRESENT IN SOLID WASTES, WHILE AT THE SAME TIME CLEANING AND DECONTAMINATING ARTICLES AND EQUIPMENTS CONTAINING THE SOLID WASTES SO THAT THE SOLID WASTES CAN BE SAFELY DISCHARGED OR DISPOSED TO THE ENVIRONMENT WITHOUT HAVING ANY ADVERSE EFFECT.
