DISPLAY METHOD AND DEVICE USING PHOTONIC CRYSTAL CHARACTERISTICS

PURPOSE: A display method using photonic crystal characteristics and a device thereof are provided to control intervals of particles with electric charges to control wavelength of light reflected from the particles, thereby realizing a full-colored structural color. CONSTITUTION: A display unit(410) of a display device(400) comprises colloid particles(412,414) with different electric charges. If an electric field is applied to the display unit, colloid particles with negative electric charges and colloid particles with positive electric charges move in opposite directions and the moved colloid particles are regularly arranged. The display unit reflects light of a specific wavelength from both sides.
