PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data processor configured so that reproduction or viewing and listening of continuous compression data, e.g. AV reproduction or viewing and listening of broadcast, can be performed with low power consumption.SOLUTION: The data processor includes a decoding section 11 for output of decoded data obtained by decoding compression data read out from a first data storage section 21; a second data storage section 22 for storing the decoded data; a DA converting section 41 for reading out the decoded data, in real time, from the second data storage section 22 and converting it into an analog signal; a first control section 52 for controlling the decoding section 11 to perform intermittent operation by performing the processing from read-out of compression data to storage of the decoded data at a higher rate than by real time processing; a clock/power supply control section 54 for limiting power consumption on the upstream side of the second data storage section 22 during stop period of intermittent operation; a second control section 53 for output of a control signal depending on the storage state of the decoded data in the second data storage section 22; and a start control section 55 for controlling the clock/power supply control section 54 to remove restriction on power consumption on receiving the control signal. |
