PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase read speed of a linear sensor, which includes a plurality of solid-state image sensors arranged adjacent to each other, under simple control.SOLUTION: A solid-state imaging apparatus comprises a plurality of solid-state image sensors 10, 20, ..., and a timing control section 3 for supplying a pulse to each solid-state image sensor. The solid-state image sensors include photodetectors, transfer control sections 13, 23, ..., and output circuits 12, 22, .... The transfer control section performs control to read signal charges from a transfer register in response to input of an element selection pulse and delays the element selection pulse in synchronization with a switching timing pulse of the solid-state image sensors to cause any other solid-state image sensor to perform output. The timing control section causes the transfer control section of one solid-state image sensor to output the element selection pulse at least twice at an interval corresponding to a cycle that is an integer multiple of the switching timing pulse, thereby allowing two or more systems to simultaneously output the pulses. |
