The component (110) has an electrolyte (118) i.e. ceramic solid electrolyte, connecting two electrodes (114, 116), where one of the electrodes (116) is arranged in a hollow chamber (120). The electrodes are short circuited with each other. A ceramic sensor element (111) comprises a third electrode (122) that is arranged in the chamber. The component is aligned to detect a pump stream between two of three electrodes and to operate a sensor element (111) as a transistor. One of the electrodes (114) is impacted with gas from a measuring gas chamber (112) in a direct and indirect manner. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for detecting components such as a oxygen portion and/or nitrogen oxide portion of gas in a measuring gas chamber (2) a method for manufacturing an electrical switching circuit.
