PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To constitute a stereoscopic display of high quality and high efficiency, free from flickering and cross talk of image lights for a right eye and a left eye, by one unit of a projection type display of excellent installability.SOLUTION: The projection type display allowing stereoscopic display includes light sources 30, 31, illumination means 33-36, color separation means 37, 38, three liquid crystal light valves 50, 51, 52 incident with lights different each other in angles, and for forming images for the right eye and the left eye, and a projection lens 58, the liquid crystal light valves 50, 51, 52 include a microlens array 64 for transmitting selectively light beams incident with the angles different each other respectively through pixels for images of the right and left eyes, and microlens arrays 65, 67 in an outgoing side of the pixel, and the projection lens includes a polarized light separating means 59 in the vicinity of a point where a main light beam is crossed with an optical axis. |
