PROCESS FOR PREPARING DIALKYL CARBONATES FROM ALKYLENE CARBONATES AND ALCOHOLS

PURPOSE: A method for continuously preparing dialkyl carbonates and alkylene glycol is provided to produce lower dialkyl carbonates as a main product and alkylene glycol as a by-product through catalytic trans-esterification of cyclic alkylene carbonate and lower alcohol. CONSTITUTION: A method for continuously preparing dialkyl carbonates and alkylene glycol comprises catalytic trans-esterification of cyclic alkylene carbonate and alcohol. The catalytic trans-esterification comprises the steps of: introducing cyclic alkylene carbonate(1) into an upper portion of a column; introducing alcohol(3) including dialkyl carbonate to a middle or lower portion of the column; introducing a stream including the alcohol(4) to a location lower than an introduction point of alcohol including dialkyl carbonate and then performing reflux.
