HUMP BRAKE SHOE

The invention relates to railway transport. A hump brake shoe comprises a stop with a lever and a skid. The stop with the lever and the skid are made of antifriction material or other material, but in that case there are antifriction linings on the wheel rolling surfaces, having in pair with wheel material a low friction factor. In the skid lower part a slot is made accommodating a friction lining, having in pair with rail material a high friction factor. In the stop top part a vessel for liquid to be fed, via wick, onto the wheel rolling surface is accommodated. The hump brake shoe can be made of the material selected from the series: steel, duraluminium, metal alloys, polymers, composites. The antifriction linings are made of the material selected from the series: metal alloys, polymers, composites, having in pair with the wheel material the low friction factor – 0.01-0.10. The friction lining is made of a “ferado” strip or other composites, having in pair with the rail material the high friction factor – 0.35-0.50. In the vessel for liquid water or non-freezing liquid are placed. The invention provides a new technical result, that is in braking a wheel pair and the whole car to a complete stop, while keeping the wheels turning when running over the shoe, that prevents the wheel and rails damage during railway rolling stock maneuvers, especially in shunting humps of the railway stations. In addition, the shoe does not produce sparking and can be used in the shunting operation with discharge and fluid cargoes.
