PURPOSE: A 3-dimensional measuring device using orthogonal fringe patterns and a measuring method thereof are provided to enable 3-dimensional measurement of high precision such as stereo vision using two cameras. CONSTITUTION: A 3-dimensional measuring device using orthogonal fringe patterns comprises a light-transmitting unit, a camera unit, a controller, and an operation unit. The light-transmitting unit projects horizontal patterns and vertical patterns which are vertical to the horizontal patterns. The camera unit is fixed and connected to the light-transmitting unit. The camera unit obtains images of multiple calibration panels. The controller controls the light-transmitting unit and the camera unit.
