PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a garbage collection vehicle capable of safely stopping a garbage loading device in an emergency by an easy operation even from a high position such a deck. SOLUTION: The garbage collection vehicle includes: a garbage collection box mounted to a vehicle body and having a rear side opening; a garbage throw-in box 5 arranged continuously to a rear-side opening of the garbage collection box and having a garbage throw-in opening 6; a garbage loading device provided on the garbage throw-in box 5; a tail gate 7 moving to a position above the garbage throw-in opening 6 to open the garbage throw-in opening 6; an emergency stop device for stopping the loading operation of the garbage loading device in an emergency; and a touch sensor 42a activating the emergency stop device, arranged on the lower portion of the outer surface of the tail gate 7 and extending in the vehicle width direction.
