PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the distance measurement accuracy of laser radar, to cope with a case of two or more targets on a laser path, and to eliminate data (image) influence due to fog, rain, etc. SOLUTION: After irradiating laser beam, all signal levels of reflected laser light on an optical path are taken in time series by an A/D converter. High-accuracy distance measurement data are obtained by correctly detecting a peak level of light receiving signals from A/D converted signals, based on moving average and peak detection processing by a software. Furthermore, distances to two or more targets can be measured by detecting two or more peaks on A/D converted data. In addition, an image without data of fog, rain, background is displayed by extracting and by displaying only the reflected signals of intensities higher than a prescribed threshold on the A/D converted data.
