PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an LED lighting device with little or no generation of flickering. SOLUTION: The LED lighting device includes an input smoothing circuit 10 to output direct current by converting alternating current from a commercial power source 1, an inverter circuit 11 to output direct current with pulsating flow by stepping down the direct current, an output smoothing circuit 12 to arrange smoothing of the direct current with pulsating flow which is output from the inverter circuit 11, and an LED module 5 to which smoothed direct current arranged by the output smoothing circuit 12 is supplied, and the output smoothing circuit 12 includes a capacitor C3 for smoothing purposes arranged in parallel with the LED module 5. For the capacitor C3 of the output smoothing circuit 12, a large capacity capacitor is used, a capacitor with almost double digits larger capacity than a normally used small capacity capacitor with single digit capacity.
