PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple microscopic system for lightening the load on a control substrate and a light source, when attaching/detaching an illumination unit to/from a microscope body by hot plug. SOLUTION: The microscopic system includes: the illumination unit 4b; the light source 9 provided in the illumination unit 4b and radiating illuminating light; a sorting part 10 holding attachment/detachment information by attachment/detachment of the illumination unit 4b as electrical information; a single connection member 11 provided in the illumination unit 4b and electrically connected to the light source 9 and the sorting part 10; an illumination circuit 14 for supplying driving power to the light source 9; an identification circuit 16 connected to the sorting part 10 to obtain the attachment/detachment information of the illumination unit 4b; an illumination signal line electrically connecting the light source 9 and the illumination circuit 14 through the connection member 11; and a sorting signal line electrically connecting the sorting part 10 and the identification circuit 16 through the connection member 11.
