PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic analyzer capable of size reduction of a transport mechanism for moving reagent vessels. SOLUTION: The automatic analyzer includes a first reagent rack 22 for holding a reagent vessel 6 rotatably around a center C1, and a second reagent rack 23 disposed at the periphery of the first reagent rack 22, while being disposed in a first reagent storage 1 for storing the reagent vessel 6 for storing a first reagent; and a first transport mechanism 45 for moving the reagent vessel 6. The first transport mechanism 45 moves the reagent vessel 6 at first and second storage positions F11, F12, held by the first and second reagent racks 22, 23 to a first retraction position 44 via a track of a first straight line 484 passing above the center C1 at an upper portion of the first reagent storage 1, and moves the reagent vessel 6 at a first standby position 41, to the first and second storage positions F11, F12 that can be held by the first and second reagent racks 22, 23.
