Sterilized nanoparticulate glucocorticosteroid formulations

Disclosed is a sterile dispersion composition comprising: (a) particles of at least one glucocorticosteroid, wherein the particles have an effective average particle size of less than about 2000 nm; (b) at least one nonionic surface stabilizer; and (c) at least one amphiphilic lipid; wherein the composition is sterilized by moist heat sterilization. Also disclosed are the use of said composition for treating inflammatory diseases such as asthma, cystic fibrosis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and emphysema.
