The device (1) has a web mounted movably between a deployed position in which the web is extended facing a zone to be occulted, and a storage position in which the web is wound around a winder (20). The winder is rotatably mounted away from the zone, and permanently drives the web to the storage position. A tensioning unit (30) automatically generates tensioning force at the web when the web reaches the deployed position, where force is oriented along a direction of deployment of the web and complementary to force exerted by the winder.
