PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heating cooker having excellent cooking performance, is safe and easy to use, with excellent maintainability. SOLUTION: The heating cooker includes a first heating means for radiant heating of a top face of a material to be cooked, and a heater for heating a bottom face of a cooking chamber, wherein a placing tray for placing the material to be cooked and the bottom face of the cooking chamber are thermally connected, and steam is supplied to a contact face of the material to be cooked and the placing tray, which allows the placing tray to be sufficiently heated for applying a necessary amount of heat to the material to be cooked, and a flavor is improved by preventing hardening caused by excess evaporation of moisture from the material to be cooked.
