<p>A compact seating arrangement for a vehicle 1 comprises three seats (12-14 see fig 8). A driver's seat (12) is arranged centrally and at least to some extent forward of two transversely aligned rear passenger seats (13,14). The driver's seat (12) extends transversely so as to be positioned in front of part of each of the rear passengers' seats (13,14). The extent of the overlap is such that each side of the driver's seat (12) is require to be shaped so as to be able to accommodate at least part of a leg of a forward facing passenger in each of the rear seats (13,14). The seat backs are inclined by 30 degrees or less to the vertical and upper surfaces of the seat bases are 400mm to 500mm above the floor.</p> |
