PURPOSE: A functional tile, and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to improve the adhesion property between a base body and a glaze layer for securing the excellent intensity and durability. CONSTITUTION: A manufacturing method of a functional tile comprises the following steps: mixing a plastic mineral material containing 30wt% of clay, 15wt% of pottery stone, and 10wt% of pyrophylite, with a non-plastic mineral material containing 25wt% of enterolith, 15wt% of quartz, 3wt% of limestone, and 2wt% of wollastonite; wet-milling, dehydrating, and drying the mixture, and press-molding to obtain a tile base material; heat-processing the tile base material in 200~300deg C; coating the tile base material with a glaze composition, and drying; plasticizing the dried tile in 1,200~1,250 deg C; and coating the lower surface and the side surfaces of the plasticized tile with an alum concentrate composition and plasticizing in 800~850 deg C.
