PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary input device achieving a more real operating feeling of a depression operation of a rotary operation device to enable an operator to reliably perceive an input by a depression operation, and to provide electronic equipment equipped with the rotary input device. SOLUTION: The rotary input device includes: the rotary operation device rotatable around an axis by receiving a rotation operation of the operator; an ultrasonic motor 16 to apply a rotary force to the rotary operation device; a pressure detecting section 20 and a pressure detection program 403b to detect a pressure in an axial direction to the rotary operation device; and a force sense presentation program 403c to present a force sense to the operator operating the rotary operation device by applying a rotary force to the rotary operation device by the ultrasonic motor 16 when detecting a predetermined pressure in the axial direction to the rotary operation device.
