<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent ignition and smoking due to abnormal heat generation caused by the internal short circuit of an electrode in a lithium ion battery. <P>SOLUTION: The lithium ion battery includes at least a positive electrode current collector, a negative electrode current collector, and a separator positioned between the positive electrode current collector and the negative electrode current collector.
